Now here's a display that came out of nowhere - we weren't even aware of it until a haunter we were reviewing mentioned it to us and told it that it had one thing that we've never actually seen at a yard display or haunt. What was that you ask? Well, it was a display featuring Michael Myers AND Dr. Loomis. While we have seen many displays with Michael Myers, we can't recall having seen any where he's actually fighting the man who was chasing after him, and for that reason alone we had to check this one out.
When we arrived, we saw Michael and Dr. Loomis in all of their glory, poised for action near the front of the display. In addition, there were many other life size figures, including a cool Headless Horseman holding his Jack-O-Lantern head, the Phantom of the Opera, and Jason hovering over some bodies inside of a tent. There was a Freddy Krueger, a butcher shop inside another tent, and two real coffins in the center of the display, complete with not so dearly departed occupants. The cool thing about many of the figures was the detail. For instance, the figure of Jason not only featured the famous hockey mask, but also Jason's real face underneath, and the body he was chopping up featured lots of bloody insides as well. It appeared that many of the figures we homemade as well, and not simple dummies with store bought masks on them. In fact, most of the masks looked hand created as well. It was a nicely done display that featured lots of things to see, including some "bodies" thrown in a drainage ditch that ran alongside the edge of the home's lawn. In short, we're happy we stumbled upon this display, and although it doesn't have an official name or anything, it's definitely one that's high quality. We're looking forward to seeing it again next haunt season! |
