Misdom Manor was a new haunt for the Tourers in 2012. This haunt, along with Haunt 4 Life, Haunted Hell, Haunted Saloon, and Haunted Estates is part of a growing number of impressive yard displays in the Chicago Southland area. We at the Tourers certainly love it when new haunts and displays spring up, especially if they are near our home base.
On the night we went to see Misdom Manor it was early in the haunting season, and it was obviously not completely set up. Thus, we can't accurately judge the display as we didn't see it in full form, but what was set up was interesting enough to warrant another look. There was a nice looking set of fencing and faux brick gates surrounding the actual display, which consisted of a number of creative tombstones, including nods to Norman Bates, John Kramer (of Jigsaw fame), and Freddy Krueger. Additionally, there was a rather effective skeletal zombie located in the back of the display. As mentioned, the display didn't seem to be entirely set up when we visited, but nevertheless it was nice to see another new display in the Southland area.. Midsom Manor has a cool looking web site that gives some (fictional?) background to the display, which can be seen here. Additionally, the Misdom Manor Facebook page has some great photos of the display with full listing and props. Regarding Misdom Manor overall, we at the Horror Tourers say "so far, so good" and "keep up the good work!" If you're in the Lansing area and looking to add another display to your list, Misdom Manor is worth checking out. We look forward to continuing to see the display grow in future years. |
