It's very rare when the Tourers do not like a yard display. Being what they are, we generally find that most of them have something enjoyable about them. Obviously, we are not looking for something really impressive, as it all depends on budget and yard space. And after all, a yard display really just means that someone has set up some Halloween decorations in their yard. Usually, though, people do tend to do something that's creative and interesting.
Unfortunately, Haunting on Massasoit was a yard display in the literal sense of the term - it was some Halloween decorations set up in someone's front yard - but that's it. The display was very small (even given the limited front yard space), had no discernible theme, and didn't offer much in the way of being interesting. In fact, only Paul actually got out to see the display, as Laura and Bryan could see it wasn't much from the car window. Basically, the entire setup consisted of two small tombstones, a small refrigerator with roaches in it, some caution tape, and a stuffed dummy on the porch. Not a lot to get excited about. Still, it was the first year for this display, so it's possible it will get better in years to come. As it is, though, it's little more than a curiosity for someone to drive past when on the way to other haunts. Although kids might find it cute, there's so little to see that you shouldn't make a special trip to see it |
