Our final haunt for the 2014 season was an entirely new haunt for the Tourers. This one was the FOP Dunes Lodge 75 Haunted House in Michigan City. We got an invitation from one of the operators and since it was one of the few open on the last weekend of the season we decided to check it out.

The haunt was located in a large building that looked like it was purposely set up just to host a haunt. From what we understand, this used to be a regular haunt in the 80's and early 90's, then it was stopped for quite a few years and is now back in operation.

Overall, the haunt was on the smaller side, but had some unique things inside it. It covered scenes including a prison, a creepy clown area, and several other standard horror related scenes, including a large outdoor scene at the end and a couple of chainsaw wielding maniacs as visitors exited.

A couple of standout scenes included a cool one where an unfortunate patient had his insides eaten by a large green skinned alien. While we've seen a lot of operating room scenes where surgeons cut people up; or where cannibals eat patients' insides, this is the first time we've actually seen someone's guts devoured by an alien - it was a nice twist.
Another great scene was the final one, which looked like it was set outdoors. It had numerous actors inside of it, including a pig headed actor inside of a cage, some creepy clowns, and more. Dominating the entire scene was a full sized car that looked like it had crashed through the wall. It was very nicely done, and added a big dose of realism to the proceedings.

Additionally, the actors were all very good as well. There were numerous actors of all sizes inside the haunt, and all of them remained in character. Their acting ranged from jump scares to quiet creepiness to loud and shouty, so the acting ran the gamut. The presence of a large number of actors also upped the creepiness factor for us.

We enjoyedo ur very first visit to the FOP Haunted House, and we certainly are looking forward to seeing what new surprises they come up with the future. Thanks for giving us another haunt to add to our list!
