812 Westwind Drive, New Lenox, IL
Year: 2014
Here's a new one for us - Dead End Cemetery in New Lenox, not to be confused with the other Dead End Cemetery in Roselle.
This one, as mentioned, was brand new in 2014 and...that's about it. There's really not a lot to say. It's a display that looks like a big cemetery, with some tombstones, figures large and small, and some colored lights. Despite the name, it's not actually on a dead end street, as Dead End Cemetery in Roselle is. We assume the "Dead End" is more of a play on the idea that a cemetery is, in some ways, a literal "dead end." Not much was going on the night we visited - there are no moving props or live actors to speak of. We will admit it did look creepy, though, given that the street was quiet and the wind was blowing gently, helping to move some of the props around. For those who like yard displays there are others that are bigger and better, but Dead End Cemetery is worth a look if driving by, or if you have younger kids who might be a bit scared of other, more elaborate displays. |
