Sometimes we Horror Tourers wind up at certain places because we are in the vicinity looking at other places. Sometimes these new places end up being great, and other times they simply remain places of convenience, and ones that we might not visit again unless we happen to be in the area. Such is the case with Curse of C'Ville, a yard display in Carpentersville, IL.
Carpentersville happens to be a bit of a ride from Horror Tourer home base, but we happened to be in the area visiting other haunts so we decided to check this one out. In short, there wasn't a lot there, and in fact fellow Horror Tourers Jim and Laura declined to comment on it as they didn't have much to say!
However, as with practically every haunt we visit, there is always at least one thing that is interesting, and with Curse of C'Ville it was a creative tombstone that said "Space Available" with a phone number. Alas, though, that was about it.
The rest of the display was a small selection of figures and tombstones, nothing that we hadn't seen before and nothing that was worth heading all the way out to Carpentersville for. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, and we probably won't visit again unless we happen to be passing by. However, for those in the area, those who don't like to be scared by their yard displays, and those with smaller children, Curse of C'Ville does present a nice display to take a look at on a cool, crisp October evening. We're happy we got to see a new display, and you never know, perhaps there is more to come in 2015!
