One of the more interesting areas for home haunts and yard displays outside of the more affluent suburbs is Justice. Although a smaller suburb, it is close to Burbank and all of the haunts there, and it boasts several good haunts in its own right, including Nightmare on Cronin and Endless Road. This particular display (creatively called "Cemetery Display") is another one that's worth checking out if you are visiting the Justice area.
The display included some interesting things, not least of which was a life size full color door covering featuring Michael Meyers. This was eerily lit and easy to see from the street, and it was a case of being far away only improving the effect. From the street it really looked like a figure standing in the doorway. Another interesting portion of the display was a lower half of a body, dressed in jeans, which had some type of raw meat or something spilling out of it and what looked like maggots crawling on it. It was very well done, and not something you see every day.
There was a life size Jason Voorhees coming out of a cabin-like structure, and a large working fountain full of fake body parts, spewing bubbling red liquid, as well as some homemade tombstones and a few other animated props, all complemented with effective lighting.
Overall, this display was a great addition to our Justice haunt tours, and one we'd recommend for eve3ryone, even those with small kids, as it has something for everyone and is not too scary or gory.
